For a long time I agreed with the weary majority that we might as well just wait it out until the end of the current term. Now I’m not so sure. Some of the men in office seem determined to destroy our way of life. Principles as old as Magna Charta are under attack.
Maybe it is time to throw the rascals out!
I didn’t put all ten of the original co-sponsors of the bill to impeach the Vice President on the page. I need to save room for whoever provides some leadership to impeach the Muppet in Chief.

Steve Cohen is facing stiff opposition in the August 7 2008 primary to hold his own seat. This sterling candidate, who had an exemplary progressive record in the Tennessee state legislature, won the 2006 primary to succeed Harold Ford in Congress. The Memphis machin and the centrist types in the local party are funding a rematch with one of the 2006 losers. Let’s not let them have it back. They voted a progressive into office and we want him to stay there!

Leading the charge to sway public opinion, Congressman McDermott said, on the floor of the House:
McDermott said. “Fear is what kept this administration in office in 2004, and fear is the only public discourse this administration understands — and practices.”

One of the most progressive new faces in the freshman class of 2006, Ellison won an election the pundits said was impossible, surviving smears against his religion and an undercurrent of racist intolerance.

A reliable voice of reason on virtually every subject of interest to progressive voters. She and Barbara Lee are co-Chairs of the Progressive Caucus, and may be the keys to flipping this high-leverage constituency toward impeachment.

There are 70 members of the Progressive Caucus. If Reps Lee and Woolsey can bring a substantial number of them aboard, the Judiciary Committee will have to take notice.
Congresswoman Lee is also gaining traction among progressives as a leading voice questioning some of the disappointing votes in the other chamber by Senator Diane Feinstein.
