OBAMA 44/44 GRASSROOTS INAUGURAL BALL

This Presidential Inauguration deserves to be celebrated by all Virginians. The election of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States marked the first time in 44 years that a majority of Virginians has voted to elect a Democrat for President.

The Democratic Black Caucus of Virginia (DBCV) and The Virginia Association of Democratic Chairs (VADC) is proud to announce a grassroots celebration of this historic 2008 election by hosting the 44/44 GRASSROOTS PRE-INAUGURAL BALL.

We believe that those who worked to make these two historic events possible deserve to be part of the inaugural celebration. So we have joined to bring you a lower cost ticket event that still has all the pomp and circumstance and lots of elected officials.

Bar opens at 6:30 PM

It was the strength, hard work and determination of Virginia’s Democrats, joined by Republicans and Independents that brought us to this place. All who volunteered, contributed, talked to your neighbor or just put up a yard sign are welcome.

HOTEL PARKING RATES

Parking is available in the underground parking garage. Presently, hotel self parking is $10.00 from 0-2 hour and 2 or more hours is $19.00 per day per car. Hotel self parking rate is $19.00 per car for overnight guests. Hotel valet parking rate is $13.00 from 0 -2 and 2 or more hours is $25.00 per day per car. Hotel valet parking rate is $25.00 per car for overnight guests. These rates are subject to change.



Take the Metro: Take subway to the Crystal City Subway stop and you can walk directly into the Crystal Gateway Marriott.



Free Parking: If you drive to Crystal City there is additional parking at the underground shops. They have free parking on weekends and is directly under the Crystal Gateway Marriott. Take elevator to the shops; Make a right turn out of the elevator; Walk straight ahead following signs for Crystal Gateway Marriott.



Bus Rides from Richmond: and Virginia Beach We've arranged with Magic Carpet Bus Service for seats to the Ball. The busses will depart from Chesterfield Town Center off Midlothian Turnpike in Richmond near Lowes. You must be in the parking lot by 4:00 PM and return at 12 Midnight. Cost $25.00 roundtrip.

Virginia Beach location TBD. Cost $40.00 roundtrip.
