For the Democratic party to succeed we must do what the Republicans have done for so many years: look at the long term. To do this we must not just donate to candidates, but fund organizations and committees that will rebuild our party from the ground up. Small donations go a long way, and the future of politics lies in the grassroots and the netroots. Organizations such as ActBlue and others will strengthen our party for the long term and build “a blue future.”

The netroots and blogs were very important in the 2004 elections cycle and continue to be of importance now. Small donors were an untapped resource for the Democrats until blogs came along, and now they are at the heart of the party. BlogPAC has united the entire left-wing blogosphere (DailyKos, America Blog, Talk Left, etc.) and it is essential that we fund it.

Remember Gore? Remember 2000? Just over 500 votes determined this state in that election, and in 2004 it got redder. But Florida has the most electoral votes of any swing state so success for the party must start there.
