Good People,
.....As many of you know, Martin Heinrich has been an outstanding mentor and friend to me since 2003 when I began serving as his policy analyst in the Albuquerque City Council office. During those four very rewarding years of working closely with him, Martin reinforced not only my belief in the ability of an elected official to successfully take on tough fights for working class people such as the minimum wage, smart growth, public safety and the well being of our environment – but also my belief in the ability of such a public servant to maintain the highest level of ethics and regard for their own family above all else, through it all.
.....During those four years, Martin proved himself an effective progressive leader as President of the Albuquerque City Council and as Chair of the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority – and is now taking on the even bigger challenge of winning back NM Congressional District One for working class families after more than 30 years of the seat being held by Republican power.
.....This race is considered one of the key “swing” districts in the country and is receiving a great deal of national attention – but you and I both know personally how much is at stake right here in our beloved community Albuquerque metro area.
.....I have set up an Act Blue webpage entitled “A Change is Gonna Come” (in the spirit of Sam Cooke) in order to help support Martin’s essential communication with voters across the district over the next three months to earn their votes and bring positive “change” to our congressional district’s leadership.
