If you haven’t heard from me in awhile, it’s because I’m completely devoting myself to one thing – putting a progressive Democrat in the U.S. Senate from Oregon. And you know me – I won’t sacrifice my summers of hiking and camping just for any old politician or cause.
Jeff is the real thing – he’s honest, progressive and won’t be one of those politicians who gets in office and then gives up on everything they promised. I’m not busting my butt for that, PLEASE!
But me busting my butt alone won’t do it. I need your help. And I need it now.
We’re at the end of the quarter and we need all donations in now to show the Republicans we mean business! In the summer people across the nation will have their sights set on Oregon – we need your help NOW to elevate Oregon onto the national playing field.
I know you’ve been complaining about the Republicans for at least eight long year – it’s time to put your money where your mouth is and elect a progressive Democrat to the Senate!
Think bold about your donation – take what you were thinking about giving, and put a zero on it. No, I’m not kidding. Are you going to helplessly watch the Republicans slam Jeff Merkley on TV and complain that the campaign isn’t putting enough ads up or enough mail out? Or are you going to put your money where your mouth is to make that happen?
Without enough money, the Republicans will drown out our voice and we’ll have six more years of Gordon Smith – he’s supported the war, done nothing to stop global warming and hasn’t lifted a finger to help poor people or those without health care.
I’m sick of it! And so I’m starting this page off with my own donation (despite having already donated AND working 80+ hours a week for this campaign!) and I hope you’ll give as much as possibly can!
