We in Massachusetts were blessed to have Ted Kennedy represent us in the Senate for so long, and we are fortunate to be able to fill his seat with another person who will serve Massachusetts and the country exceptionally well: Martha Coakley. Martha is a dedicated and intelligent public servant who has excelled in every public position she has held, from Assistant District Attorney to District Attorney to Attorney General. Progressive on social issues such as reproductive rights and gay rights, Martha brings a liberal perspective and a practical approach to economic and law and order issues. Though she was a tough prosecutor, she is against the death penalty and believes in prevention and rehabilitation, not just punishment. And, yes, she was president of the Women's Bar Association, an organization near and dear to my heart.

Martha Coakley has what we need in Washington: a tenacious drive to get things done, the intelligence to get the right things done, and the integrity to make sure government works for the people.
