Unless/until Gore announces his candidacy, John Edwards seems the best bet. He is coming out with substantive policy proposals, has a real understanding of the issues facing us and seems to phrase things in a way that interests a broad swath of America. Furthermore, we haven’t elected a Democrat from a Blue state since JFK in 1960, which was also the last time we elected someone directly out of the senate.
