Austin Progressives for Lon

There are only a few State Reps who can be counted on session after session to vote 100% on progressive issues. There are even fewer who take the time to know these issues backwards and forwards and to take the lead on them. One of the few is Lon Burnam, about whom I have some good news and some bad news.

Good news: After months of taking potshots at Lon, Ft. Worth City Councilman Sal Espino announced that he will not run against Lon in the Democratic Primary.

Bad news: He is trying to recruit someone who will.

Therefore, I am enlisting friends as sponsors of a fund-raiser for Lon to be held in Austin on Wednesday, November 4th from 5 to 7 PM at Aquarelle Retaurant, 606 Rio Grande. Would you please consider sponsoring at the $125, $250 or $500 level? Of course donations in any amount will be appreciated.
