<blurb>To my family, and friends:

Today I'm asking you to help support Anthony Woods, who is running for the House seat in the 10th District in California.

Anthony Woods has been a close friend of mine for 15 years. Over those 15 years, Anthony has become family to me. I can speak to his intelligence, his drive, and his commitment to his country, friends, family and home.

Anthony grew up in a single parent household, and despite what figures and statistics may tell you, he excelled. He showed early on his abilities by being involved in sports while enrolled in honors classes. Anthony graduated from Vanden High School with honors in 1999. He then earned acceptance to, and graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point. As an officer in the Army he served two tours of duty in Iraq, earning a Bronze Star for his service.

In the time between his graduation from West Point and his tours of duty, Anthony contributed to his community and country. He helped those less fortunate by rebuilding homes in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and raised money for Habitat for Humanity by biking across the country.

Most recently, Anthony graduated from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. However, Anthony was also facing up to a life changing decision; one of the most difficult decisions he or anyone could have faced. In respecting the honor code he followed at West Point and in the Army, he reported to his commanding officer that he was gay. While being true to himself and the Army, that decision ended his promising military career, one in which his dream of teaching at West Point was shattered.

But Anthony now has a new dream; to represent us in Congress. When I hear Anthony speak about issues such as health care and the wars in Iraq, I know he speaks the truth. Anthony has made sacrifices, went without health insurance growing up, and fought for his country in Iraq. He's seen and experienced first hand the issues that affect millions of Americans today.

For years I've heard the talk about the need for change in Congress; a need for new candidates with fresh ideas. I honestly believe that Anthony is such a candidate, deserving of our attention and support.

Please support Anthony by contributing to his campaign, or by spreading the word about him. Help bring change to Washington by sending Anthony Woods to Congress.

Thank you,

Ian
