Evan Bayh has been the largest figure in Indiana politics for nearly 20 years. He was just elected to his second term as a US Senator from Indiana during the 2004 elections with an astonishing 62% of the vote. The Senator actually got more votes than President Bush within the state. This is an astounding feat considering Indiana's stong conservative beliefs and large conservative population. Outside of Indiana politics, Evan Bayh has been a rare voice of reason within the national political landscape.
