Bill Foster – A scientist with the right formula to turn Illinois’ 14th Congressional district blue. Motivated to action by the mismanagement of everything from Iraq to basic science policy, this businessman turned scientist turned political candidate has the background, resources and motivation to bring about real change in Washington.
Bill moved to the Fox Valley in 1984 and raised his family in Batavia while working on some of the most interesting scientifi c projects in the entire country. When he was younger, he started a business with his little brother from scratch in their basement. With $500 from their parents and a lot of help from friends they built a company that now manufactures about 70% of all the theatre lighting equipment in the United States.
After watching years of mismanagement by Congress, Bill was spurned to action last year and went to work for the campaign of Captain Patrick Murphy in Philadelphia. He camped out in the Ramada Inn across the road from the campaign headquarters and organized the “Get Out The Vote” system for the campaign. In the last 72 hours volunteers from the campaign knocked on 240,000 doors and 140,000 doors on Election Day alone.
Bill’s issues are in sync with the district: bring a responsible end to the war in Iraq and bring real change to congress. With his background as a scientist, he’s ready to get our country back in the business of innovating. Innovating to fight global warming and develop new sources of energy. Innovating to fix our health care system and find cures for debilitating diseases. With his background in business, he’s ready to tackle the budgetary mess in Washington and restore fiscal sanity to our government.
Bill Foster – scientist, businessman, a Democrat ready to change Congress.
