Help me Run with Rosemary!

I know that many of you are aware that Rosemary Palmer- who attends our church regularly on Sunday mornings with her husband Paul- is running for congress. I call this to your attention once more because I wonder if many of you, like me, are concerned that many (not all) of our congressmen and women appear no longer to recognize the need for true statesmanship in Washington—for leaders who can sit around a table using reason and good judgment to arrive at intelligent decisions that actually benefit the people. A true statesman is able to to let go of the capital D and the capital R to seek what is best for the capital P, the People. But it does not end there. There must be follow-through and integrity to get to the final goal.
I know Rosemary, and I know it’s time to stand up and be counted. Rosemary has all of these—reason, good judgment, intelligence, determination, integrity—and follow-through is her middle name. After losing their son in the Iraq war, Rosemary and Paul organized a non-partisan, non-profit organization that has sought, and continues to seek a responsible end to the war in Iraq. Now she is making a determined effort to win the congressional seat in the 10th District. (Put yourself in her place and see how much courage that takes!) I cannot vote for her, but I can support her and that support is critical right now. She will be the kind of congresswoman that we all need in Washington if we will just help to get her elected!
There is a special fundraising effort that ends at 4 p.m. on Fri., Jan 4th, the filing deadline for the 10th District congressional candidates. Rosemary is in the middle of a heated five-way battle for the party nomination. Every dollar will make a difference and will help her to come out on top on March 4th.
