Noah Cuttler ncuttler@gmail.com Progressive Democrat Anthony Woods has spent more time on the frontlines of important battles than most politicians do in a lifetime, and now he&#39;s running for Congress in California&#39;s 10th Congressional District.<p> A U.S. Army veteran and graduate of West Point, Woods earned the Bronze Star for serving our nation in Iraq during two deployments, leading platoons into battle and working with Iraqis to help rebuild their devastated nation.<p> Woods learned the value of hard work and a quality education from his mother. She raised him by working long hours as a housekeeper and without health insurance for most of his life.<p> Upon his return from Iraq, Woods continued his education at Harvard University, where he was awarded a Master’s Degree from the Kennedy School of Government. He was a co-recipient of the Robert F. Kennedy Public Service Award and organized missions to help rebuild hurricane-ravaged New Orleans.<p> America needs more strong, progressive leaders like Anthony Woods who have the courage to stand up and fight for their convictions.<p> While on leave from the Army, he reached the conclusion that he could no longer serve in silence under the military’s “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy, and was honorably discharged for standing up for equality within our military.<p> Woods went on to work as an economic policy advisor – where he worked on solutions to create jobs here at home and invest in new high-wage industries.<p> America doesn&#39;t need another career politician. Anthony Woods has proven he is the kind of leader who fights for us.
