Citizen Candidate
A long-time resident of Rolling Meadows, Christine Cegelis lives and works in Illinois� 6th Congressional District. She holds a degree in International Relations and Public Administration, and is a sucessful small-business owner, IT consultant, and a single mother of two college-age sons. In 2004, she earned an unprecedented 44.2% of the vote against 30-year Republican incumbent Rep. Henry Hyde. Christine Cegelis enters the 2006 race for Congress as the candidate with momentum and has been traveling the district for the last two years listening to the issues and concerns of local residents.
Reclaiming the American Dream
I attribute the strength of my first campaign to the strong grassroots support I received and want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for the amazing things you do out of love for our country. Being involved in the political process can be time-consuming. But I know you do it because, like me, you have a strong desire to make this country, and this world, a better place for the next generation.
