Running in one of the tightest races for the U.S. Senate this year, Jeff Merkley is hoping to capture the Oregon seat from incumbent Gordon Smith. Merkley has said that “America cannot take on the complicated issues facing the world without working in partnership with the world. The next Administration, supported by Congress, needs to restore a respectful dialogue with the world and work in collaboration to tackle environmental issues, international health issues, trade and economic policy, and nuclear proliferation and other security issues.”

Shea-Porter has been a great representative for Global Solutions in Congress, earning top marks on our Congressional Report card. After such a great start, we want to extend her career in the House by getting her re-elected in November.

Linda Stender is back after losing by just 1% to Republican incumbent Mike Ferguson in 2006. Now that Ferguson is retiring, Stender is poised to take this seat. A strong globalist and environmentalist, Stender stated “I firmly support Citizens for Global Solutions in your efforts to help all of the world's people. We must restore America’s place in the international community, and ensure we live up to our Founding Fathers' ideals of a beacon of hope and opportunity for persons everywhere."
