Although Bush won this state, Democrats have continued to make gains at the state legislative level with a localized message and strong operations on the ground. In 2004, we picked up 4 seats in the Iowa Senate to push the chamber to a tie, and we picked up 3 seats in the Iowa House; we are now within one seat of taking the chamber. We now have a great opportunity to finish the job and push two chambers towards Democratic control.

About Us:
The DLCC works to win statehouse races and chambers and to put Democrats in a strong position for redistricting. We give caucuses access to tools, and work with them to create state-specific strategies. We have a record of success, with net gains in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006.
