You can make a positive change in Virginia by supporting a key campaign in this November’s election. The race in the House of Delegates 13th District (covering Gainesville, Haymarket, and parts of Bristow and Manassas) isn’t about party affiliations or a balance of power; it’s about re-directing our government’s focus to where it’s needed. The 13th District is currently represented-and I use that word loosely-by Robert Marshall. You might recognize his name as a creator of last year’s “marriage amendment.” In addition to sponsoring this hateful & divisive legislation, Marshall more recently voted against the transportation bill—and then when he didn’t get his way, he sued the Commonwealth. These actions show he’s out of touch with the real needs of Virginians. Bruce Roemmelt, on the other hand, has the needs of all Virginians in mind. Bruce is a good man that I have come to call a friend. He focuses on the issues that unite us, not divide us. Bruce wants to improve transportation so that, as he puts it, “we [could] be having dinner with our families and helping our children with their homework” instead of sitting in traffic jams. He has the drive to improve Virginia’s schools and the experience & know-how, being an educator himself. And Bruce wants to make it easier for businesses to offer insurance to their employees—an important step in improving health care in the Commonwealth. I ask you to create positive change in Virginia by supporting Bruce Roemmelt’s campaign in every way that you can. If you live in the 13th District, by all means vote for Bruce in November. And regardless of where you live, you can support Bruce by contributing $25, $50, $100 or more to his campaign and helping him get the word out to our neighbors. Thank you for your support!
