All too often the national Democratic Party has left as here in the South high and dry. Luckily, this is beginning to change. However, we still have a challenge in front of us in rebuilding the “Solid South,” but I believe that it can be done.
I picked the candidates for this page very simply. There is (or will be) a candidate representing every Southern state. Everyone on here is challenging a Republican incumbent. Some of them are given good odds on getting the seat, some not. Some are well funded, some or not. However, I feel, from a cursory glance at their websites, comfortable putting them on here. This normally means a union endorsement, positions on various issues like Healthcare, the War in Iraq, etc.
They are not chosen by chance to win, but merely by having the courage to run. Good luck to all the Turning Red Blue: All over the South candidates for 2006.

Joe Roberts

This is my home district, the one that I was raised in and the one where my parents still live. This is considered a “safe district” for the Republican incumbent, so if Roberts can raise some significant money and is able to pull even 35-40% of the vote, it will be considered a “moral” victory, will put him is a place that he can do something in 2 years, and force the Republicans to put some money into the district. PLEASE consider giving Roberts any amount of money that you can. PS- He is one of the Fighting Dems

Heath is running against the 8 term incumbent, Charles Taylor. This is one of the “hot districts” that is getting a lot of money, so make the call, but those of us here in A-ville really want Taylor gone!!
