Ah, yeah! Colorado is COORS Country!

by zeroweek

But it doesn’t have to be!
Look. I moved here 6 years ago from a short non-election stint in NC. Before that I lived in the land of wasted democratic votes…Utah. UTAH! My goodness that nightmare is thankfully over. (No dis to the state, just the politics, Utah is amazing, you should visit….seriously.)
Since I moved to Colorado GOP Gov. Bill Owens squeaked into office, the state dems lost control of the Senate, our last Federal Senate race was a big let down, and the 7th district was lost by 121 votes. Thankfully we beat back a redistricting attempt and have a chance to make the GOP pay for their callous attempt at a power grab.
Now is the time people. One of my true motivations for raising money for these candidates is to help get out the vote for president. Up ticket, down ticket, cross ticket, blue ticket. My vote has not contributed to a democratic electoral vote since 1992. 12 years I have been rendered meaningless in presidential politics. Check out the good candidates below(and their ugly opponents) and help make my vote actually count for something. Together, we will change the face of Colorado and the Nation!

Former State Senator Stan Matsunaka (D) is challenging incumbent Rep. Marilyn Musgrave®, whose major legislative motivation seems to be her radical homophobia.
Last election when Stan was left high and dry with no money. Ms. Marilyn coasted in without having to speak during the whole campaign….her handlers, unlike her, are smart. She wasn’t even allowed to speak in her campaign ads. Did I mention that her campaign staff was smart? I didn’t know what she sounded like until she WON and the local news interviewed her.
Did you see her on any of the Sunday talk shows? I was embarrassed and angry…I plan on getting on the ground for Stan. He’s a good man, check him out. He used to be president of the state senate until he was term limited out. Matsunaka on the Federal Marriage Amendment: “The Constitution is a document to protect individual rights, not to institutionalize discrimination.”
This is a David vs. Goliath for sure…but we know what Goliath sounds like now, and Goliath is dumb as a box of rocks. Goliath is also a slickwikkity dikkity wingnuttery freak.

This election has ended.

(That should read Wiggiddy Wuh Wuh Wingnut Tom Tancredo. This guy is a nightmare, I may as well be living in Utah with this guy in DC…please help.)

This election has ended.

Dave Thomas (D) is challenging incumbent Rep. Bob Beauprez®. 121 votes. 121 votes. 121 votes. They tried to redistrict Beauprez safe. 121 votes. 121 votes. 121 votes. Ken Salazar helped save the day. 121 votes.121 votes.121 votes. This district is evenly split. 121 votes.121 votes.121 votes. But, this time democrats are pissed.

This election has ended.

State Rep. John Salazar (D) will face Greg Walcher for the seat of retiring Rep. Scott McInnis®.
Brother of Senate candidate facing off against former state DNR director and West Slope water stealer, Greg Walcher. This one is special people. A true rural western district has a good chance a democratic representation. Words can not express how precious that possibility is.
Do you have any ski bum friends in CO? Tell, them to get of their apathetic, psuedo anarchist assess and freakin’ vote!!!

This election has ended.

CO-Sen (Map)

Attorney General Ken Salazar (D) will face Pete Coors® for the seat of retiring Sen. Benjamin Changehorse Campbell®.
Ken went to bat, HARD on redistricting. We need him as our next senator.
You gotta give it to Ben for one thing…he screwed the dems on the way in but he’s screwing the GoOPers on the way out. Changehorse was an egotistical nightmare and he is gone. Praise BE to the divine!
This is the marquee. That rumble you hear in the mountains? That’s an avalanche of democratic support. This is why we are being considered as a swing state. I will be on the ground for this one as well. We. Must. Win. Send the love people. Send the LOVE!

This election has ended.
