Hello, my name is Cynthia Rodriquez Matthews and I am a Democrat running to Take Back Congress in November 2006. It’s time to outsource my opponent GOP Rep. David Dreier in the 26th CD and send a strong message to Washington.
As a newcomer In 2004 I came within less than 10% of defeating David Dreier, one of the most highly funded GOP members of the House. He spent $3.5 million dollars compared to my $35,000. This year with your financial help, I believe I will beat the 13-term incumbant and we will gain another Democratic seat in Congress.
The Bush administration’s approval rating is at an all time low and this discontent is filtering to other Republican offices around the country. The time is now to Take Back Congress.
The central issues of my campaign include a fundamental resolution of the War in Iraq which includes a definite troop withdrawal timeline, accompanied by a humanitarian support program; Redirect the war billions into border security, healthcare and education; and protect our civil liberties and rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.
