December 13th has always been an important date in history. From ancient times until the 16th century, December 13th was the shortest day and longest night and was widely celebrated as such.
December 13, 1577 – Marked the begining of Francisc Drake’s trip around the world in the Golden Hind.
December 13, 1843 – Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol went on sale for the first day and sold a record breaking 6,000 copies.
December 13, 2007 – The Buffalo Young Professionals for Jon Powers hold their first official campaign fundraiser.
The Young Professionals for Jon Powers invite you to spend an early evening in cold December warming up with people of like minds, interests, and above all a desire for a positive change in Congress in 2008.
We will be collecting toys for Toys for Tots. Its $50 without a toy and $40 with a toy. Please purchase your tickets today.
