As I sit here in my living room half asleep in my striped pajamas, I think of the promises this country makes to its citizens about justice, democracy and equal opportunity. I think of the promises that our presidents make to all of us and the power they are entrusted with. I can think of no better candidate than John Edwards.
John Edwards candidacy rings two bells – he has the strong ideas and the courage to follow through on them and be one of the best presidents in our history. Equally important, he consistently and comfortably beats the entire® slate in nation-wide polls, a qualification that cannot be taken for granted. Best of all he can do all this completely grass- and netroots fired on (with zero lobbyist donations!)
Its easy to see how anybody can be better than Bush – but its also true and worth noting from the Republican slate, that some can actually be a lot worse. Besides, we should expect a higher standard than “better than Bush”
John Edwards is a true leader who hears the voice of the people, understands what needs what is needed and will fight to get it done. We deserve an equally historic president following on the horror show put on by the current White House occupants.
Keep on shining the daylight on John Edwards, and he will shine the light of democracy back on us!
