When Jerry McNerney heard that his conservative Congressman Richard Pombo would be running unopposed for a seventh term as Representative from the 11th District, he knew he had to do something. Pombo had received a zero rating from Planned Parenthood, Leadership Council of Civil Rights and the AFL-CIO. After a primary election, Jerry learned he had made the ballot by two votes. Since then grassroots organizing has made Jerry into a strong challenger to Pombo and given the citizens of California's 11th Congressional district hope for taking their country back.</pageblurb>

As a Marine combat pilot, a self made businessman and a single parent, Jim Brandt has two qualities that are indispensable in a congressman: leadership and the ability to get things done. His opponent, 7- term incumbent, Dana Rohrabacher, has failed to bring meaningful progress to his district, environmental protection for California's coastline, better jobs and education for the middle class, and adequate funding to secure one of the world's busiest seaports, the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles. Brandt's campaign is bringing together diverse communities including business, labor, and environmental, ethnic and advocacy groups. Join in supporting Jim's bid to bring leadership to the 46th and representation back to Congress.</pageblurb>

Stan Matsunaka isn't going to let Marilyn Musgrave run unchallenged. Musgrave has failed the district socially and financially from education to health care. She has polarized the state and the nation by authoring the amendment to ban gay marriage. Musgrave uses her far-right views on GLBT issues and choice to grab national headlines while ignoring her constituent's needs. Stan offers a mainstream alternative in a race we can win. He brings people together in Colorado around the issues they have in common: a need for affordable health care, jobs that don't get exported, and excellence in education.</pageblurb>

If you care about a woman's right to choose.. give Ginny a call. Since the unexpected retirement of six-term incumbent Jim Greenwood in July, the race in Pennsylvania's Eight District has skyrocketed to one of the most targeted and exciting races in the country. In selecting Ginny's opponent, the Republicans turned to the right-wing pro-life county commissioner Mike Fitzpatrick. Given the moderate disposition of this district and Fitzpatrick's disfavor with many moderates within his own party, this seat is an excellent opportunity for a Democratic pick-up. This district is critical to talking back the House, Senate and the White House.</pageblurb>
