As someone with a deep passion for public service, I tend to support candidates who share that same passion. Niki Tsongas is not running as a result of ambition. She is a candidate for Congress because she harbors a strong desire to give back to the people who have given her so much. Niki is a candidate for all of the right reasons: She wants to end this failed war in Iraq, work to establish a universal health care system to make sure that every American has quality health care, and work to reverse the global warming trend. Also, she will not walk through the doors of Congress unknown. Representatives and Senators from all across the country would love to have her namesake on their legislation. She will be able to build coalitions and get to work for the Fifth Congressional District on Day One. However, she can’t do this all by herself.
