Chris Bell is days away from picking up an open state senate seat in Texas. Everyone's polls show he is close to winning this without a runoff. Everyone from state senators to precinct captains, from teachers to fire fighters is backing him. What we need is enough money to finish this out.

That's where you come in. And where I come in. Raising money is neither my job nor a talent of mine. I have never before set up an ActBlue fundraising page for any client. But Chris Bell is different. We all know or have heard about politicians who fail to live up to standards of basic decency, but over the course of three campaigns, I have come to know Chris Bell as a loyal, funny, whip-smart and decent friend who would rather say what he knows to be true than what I tell him is popular. He is also not afraid of long odds or looming bullies, and he deserves your support.

That brings me to you. I need your help not only to elect a smart and decent man to the Texas Senate but also to avoid the personal embarrassment of not reaching my goal of raising $2,500 in one week. I am counting on you for your help right now, even if it's only $10.
