Well, it’s quite simply down to the wire in a lot of races for the House and Senate. Listed below are some great Democratic candidates who need our help to win. Unfortunately, Republicans are throwing everything AND the kitchen sink at them. Osama, gay marriage, cut and run… it’s all a bunch of BS and we know it. So please take a minute to read about these races and then donate what you can to these Democratic candidates. Even if it’s $5 or $10 each, it all ads up and it will help. Thanks!

Tammy Duckworth

IL-06 (Map)

Tammy lost her legs fighting in Iraq as the pilot of a helicopter that was shot down.”I didn’t cut and run, Mr. President,” Duckworth said. “Like so many others, I proudly fought and sacrificed. My helicopter was shot down long after you proclaimed `Mission Accomplished.’” Make these bastards pay for tarring someone like Tammy Duckworth as cut and run.

Joseph Sestak Jr

PA-07 (Map)

Joe Sestak is a retired Vice Admiral. His opponent is a corrupt congressman named Curt Weldon who still thinks there are WMD in Iraq. In fact, he said he’d go over himself and dig them up. Let’s retire Weldon from Congress and then hand him a plane ticket and a shovel.

Victoria Wulsin, a doctor, is running against the twit, Jean Schmidt, who called John Murtha a coward on the floor of the House. Now Schmidt is insanely attacking Wulsin for airing that footage in a TV ad. Truth hurts, Jean, don’t it? Be generous.

Image of John Hall

John Hall

NY-19 (Map)

His opponent, Rep. Sue Kelly, literally ran from the cameras when questioned about her involvement in the page scandal. She’s the epitome of the do-nothing Republican. John Hall, on the other hand, is exactly the kind of progressive we need in Congress.

Mike Arcuri

NY-24 (Map)

Arcuri, a Democratic prosecutor, is running in an open race to replace the retiring Rep. Sherwood Boehlert, one of the few honest Republicans left in Congress. The national Republicans are smearing Arcuri mercilessly in a desperate attempt to hold onto this seat. This is an important seat to pick up so help out if you can.

Gillibrand’s opponent, Rep. John Sweeney, led the infamous and disruptive Republican charge into the room where they were counting ballots in Florida in 2000. Sweeney was also photographed carousing at a frat party this spring. Beer bong, anyone? Help Gillibrand take this bozo out.

He’s running against a guy named “Dirty” Dick Pombo. Pombo, chair of the House Resources Committee, has pushed for selling off our national parks, dismantling the Endangered Species Act, and drilling in the Alaskan refuge. If they pave paradise and put up a parking lot, Pombo will have had a hand (and a backhoe) in it. Give to McNerney and help rid us of the nightmare that is Pombo.

She’s the Attorney General of New Mexico and is running against Republican Rep. Heather Wilson. As a member of the Armed Sevices Committee, Rep. Wilson has admitted that she knew the Iraq intelligence was flawed, yet she voted with Bush anyway. Way to go, Heather.

Jon Tester is an organic farmer in Montana. His opponent, Senator Conrad Burns, was named one of the most corrupt legislators in Washington with ties to good ol’ Jack Abramoff. Burns also has a secret plan for Iraq. Oh, wait, it’s the plan from 3 years ago. Oops. Help elect Jon Tester.

Probably one of the nastiest fights in the country. The disgusting race-baiting ad recently put out by the Republican National Committe didn’t help matters. Ford isn’t the most progressive of Dems, but we desperately need this seat. Help Ford out.

Image of Claire McCaskill

Claire McCaskill

MO-Sen (Map)

McCaskill is running a tight race against Bush lapdog, and a king of smear, Senator Jim Talent. Just this week, the Kansas City Star demanded that Talent pull his television ads for grossly distorting their coverage. Not only does Jim Talent need to go down, but we need to put another truly talented and effective woman into the United States Senate. Help elect Claire McCaskill.

Image of James Webb

James Webb

VA-Sen (Map)

Webb is running against Senator George Allen. Allen, you may recall, has shown a repeated fondness for racially charged invective. He’s a good ol’ boy from, uh, Southern California, who loves his Confederate flag. Webb is a winner of the Navy Cross, former Republican, and Secretary of the Navy under Reagan. Like many of us, he got fed up with Bush and people like Allen and decided to do something about it. Help Webb win this important seat.
