Blue America PAC

The Blue America PAC was formed on August 24 to raise money to put “Have You Had Enough” on the radio in the form of 30 second advertising spots for various Blue America candidates. As you can see from our list, most of our candidates are in low-cost media markets where just a few dollars will go a very long way. We have no candidates in expensive media markets like NYC or Boston or Los Angeles or Chicago. These are “dollah a hollah” markets. We’re hoping to have people humming their way into the polling booths come November. Charlie Brown

Before you look into who Charlie Brown is, you might already know something about the incumbent he’s running against. John Doolittle is one of the most venal and corrupt Republicans to ever walk the halls of Congress. The people of CA-04 would actually be better off with no representative at all instead of this brazen political prostitute they have now, someone who is readily available for all Big Business interests—as long as the money is right. Where some of the most self-serving Republican legislators have specialized in just one or two genres of corruption, there is no scandal that has hit Washington that John Doolittle hasn’t been involved in. Well, that’s the bad news. But the good news is that Charlie Brown is a beacon of integrity with a common sense, non-ideological approach to dealing with the pressing problems that our country is going to have to face once we drive the Republicans out of the nation’s capital.

Francine Busby

Francine Busby was a candidate DWT, FDL and C&L all endorsed from the beginning—which is fitting for several reasons. First off, the special election to replace admitted Republican multimillion dollar bribe-taker, Randy “Duke” Cunningham, in April was very close in very red district. If Francine is well-financed enough, she now has the name recognition to beat Bilbray in November. Francine is well informed, progressive, fair-minded, ethical and the kind of “regular person” we need more of in Washington.

Ben Cardin

If you read Ben Cardin’s record as a congressman you’ll understand how important it is to get a guy like this into the U.S. Senate. But it was really meeting Ben in person and seeing what he was like as a human being that inspired me to start an Act Blue page for him. The Republicans are targeting Maryland as a place where they can make an inroad. I think they’re barking up the wrong tree. If Ben has the money to get his message out, he’ll be sworn in as a U.S. Senator next January, where he’ll be a voice of conscience in a time when Bush/DeLay/Frist/Abramoff ethics and Robertson/Falwell/Dobson/Phelps morals have replaced genuine American values.

Chris Carney

Chris Carney is a Fighting Dem and a professor attempting to displace a corrupt rubber stamp incumbent who seems to enjoy extramarital power relationships with women young enough to be his granddaughter. He was recently caught beating up his long-term mistress and before settling a $5.5 million law suit out of court, he explained he was giving her a backrub. While Congressman Sherwood spends his time debating the differences between backrubs and violence against women, Chris Carney, a National Security Democrat, has been working hard at plans to keep America safe and to bring prosperity back to his northeast Pennsylvania district.

Mike Caudle

Supporting local progressives like Mike means supporting the future of a progressive America. Unless we are willing to sit back and watch Tom DeLay-like Republicans gerrymander state after state so that elections are always fixed for the GOP, like they are in Texas, we need to support men and women like Mike. If Democrats win just a few ocal legislative seats in Oregon they can prevent this kind of catastrophe there. And if we elect a guy like Mike we’re investing in a future of progressive politics with integrity. Wayne Scott, on the other hand, has serious ethics problems that underscore his unsuitability to hold elected office, even beyond his wreckless policy positions.

Finally forced to take notice of the district by McNerney�s results and Pombo�s increasingly high-profile criminal behavior, the Democratic Party responded by� anointing a Rahm Emanuel �moderate� to run against McNerney in the primary. Grassroots activists are strongly behind McNerney and his chances of beating Pombo increase every day, especially as more and more revelations come out about Pombo activities.
