DPSFV will be responsible for operating the 2008 Democratic Campaign Headquarters in the Valley and we rely on local contributions to fund the office. Because of campaign finance law the bulk of the money we spend must come from contributions from individuals. Opening an operating an office isn’t cheap: rent, phone lines, office supplies, refreshments, literature, buttons—it all adds up.
To make it easier for everyone to ensure a Democratic victory in 2008 DPSFV has started the $20.08 For 2008 program. Sign up to make an automatic recurring contribution of $20.08 or more between now and the November 2008 election and you’ll make a big difference in helping us fund our office. You’ll be able to change the contribution amount or cancel it altogether at any time.
In 2006, DPSFV operated the largest and most successful Democratic heaquarters in the entire state and we have the numbers to prove it! We made over 150,000 phone callers to voters in the Valley and swing districts in California and in the Southwest. We placed thousands of door hangers reminding voters of their polling places and the Democratic slate. And we provided yard signs to voters around the state. For our hard work we swept Democrats into nearly every statewide office.
