Bill O’Neill, A graduate of Cleveland Heights High School (1965) and Ohio University (1969), O’Neill joined the United States Army in 1969 and earned the Bronze Star in Vietnam. He retired from the military in 2001 as a lieutenant commander in the Ohio National Guard.
O’Neill worked as a union organizer, small business owner, and civil rights lawyer before running for public office and served as an appellate judge on the Ohio Eleventh District Court of Appeals from 1997–2007.
O’Neill returned to school at age 50 to become a registered nurse, and currently works nights and weekends in the pediatric emergency room at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.
O’Neill is running against Steve LaTourette in Ohio’s 14th district, an R + 2 district which is very winnable.
