<blurb>Nick Leibham's opponent is the incumbent Bilbray. Bilbray barely won 2 years ago in the special election following the resignation of the disgraced Republican, Randy "Duke" Cunningham. Like many Republicans, Bilbray is vulnerable this year as well. Why? Because he is representative of the "bought" GOP, a party that lacks individual leaders capable of solving our very real national and local problems. They are only able to vote lock step with the most unpopular President in the history of the United States!

Bilbray is a "borrow and bomb" Republican, an ardent supporter of the Iraq war without feeling the need to pay for it;

Bilbray is an old school political insider, who immediately became a lobbyist after his Congressional stint in the 49th district. He has taken significant money from PACs and large companies with powerful lobbying ties, including big oil and telecoms;

Bilbray has supported the dismantling of the US Constitution in order to keep his power intact. He is in favor of illegally wiretapping your phones, email, Internet browsing, opposed habeus corpus, is pro-torture, etc.;

Though Bilbray talks tough about the "rule of law" when it comes to opposing amnesty for poverty-stricken illegal immigrants, he's all for granting amnesty to billionaire Telecoms who broke the law when the government came to spy on you. Bilbray has accepted significant contributions from Telecoms;

Bilbray wants to drill for oil off the coast of San Diego!! Like other Republicans, Bilbray believes more oil drilling will lower your gasoline prices. But guess what, the oil refineries are operating at capacity. More oil doesn't mean more gas, because the oil companies like the number of refineries they have. (Fewer refineries keeps supply low, profits high.) Additionally, equipment to drill for new offshore oil is in short supply. Experts say it would take 5+ years for a drop of new US oil to get into production! Finally, drilling for new oil is only pushing off the inevitable. Worldwide demand for oil will out pace the supply within a couple of decades. What then? More war for oil? Bilbray has taken significant contributions from Big Oil;

Politics are local. Bilbray is out of touch. Time to toss him out along with Bush. Pick Nick!
“I am running for Congress because I was asked by the community that I live in to once again enter public service. This is a critical time, a time to renew the vision and promise of the Founding Fathers." - Nick
</blurb>
