<blurb>Two years ago my community was inundated by the wrath of Hurricane Katrina. Through astounding diligence my community has made every effort to overcome every obstacle, to rebuild our homes, lives and community despite lack of funding and support on every government level (local, state and federal).

Our area desperately needs change of representation in Washington. Dr Gilda Reed is a Democratic Candidate for the US House Congressional Seat for Louisiana 1st District, a critical Congressional race in my community forthcoming in 2008.

Gilda Reed is the one who can best represent our area in Washington. I ask you to take time get to know her by visiting Gilda Reed's MySpace or her website www.gildareed.com and please consider supporting her campaign by endorsing, referring, volunteering, posting a banner, bookmarking her as a friend, hold a fundraising and/or contributing a donation.

Here's why I am supporting Gilda Reed:

Gilda Werner Reed, PhD is running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Louisiana’s 1st Congressional District. Her ambitions are to make a powerful difference in the quality of life for the working middle class, the family, the single parent, the elderly, the disabled, and the poor.

With a PhD in Biological Psychology, Dr Reed has taught as a professor at the University of New Orleans since 1994 and persistently strives towards improving the educational needs of our community.

As the mother of seven children, her two eldest are Navy veterans and eleven grandchildren with two lovingly adopted from Belize, Dr Reed reverents individualism as well as understands the struggles families face everyday.

Stricken with polio at the age of 2, Dr Reed is attentive to all health care issues as well as the rights of all citizens with special needs.

As a lifelong resident of Jefferson Parish and survivor of Hurricane Katrina, Gilda Reed knows first-hand the necessities of rebuilding our community.

Dr Gilda Reed will diligently represent our community in Washington. She will work directly with the people of my community, the same way she has nutured the thousands of her students who have passed through her classes. She will work hard to bring about difference, to uphold the diversity of our citizens and restore the respect that our community rightfully deserves nationwide.

Dr. Gilda Werner Reed is the candidate who will bring about the “difference” my community desperately needs. Your support can help make that “difference” become a reality for the people of my community of New Orleans, and its surrounding parishes (counties) of Jefferson, St. Charles, Washington, St. Tammany, and Tangipahoa.

Please consider making a contribution to Gilda Reeds Campaign today.
