Greg has a long and distinguished record of public service for the people of Kentucky. In 1980, he was elected State Representative from Prestonsburg in Floyd County. Greg was subsequently elected to 11 terms as State Representative and served 24 years in the Kentucky Legislature. In 1985, Greg was elected House Majority Floor Leader and was the youngest person to hold that position in any state government.
Greg currently serves as Kentucky’s Attorney General. He has been praised as the chief defender of Kentucky’s environment by the Lexington Herald-Leader. Greg is a member of the Environmental Crimes Work Group and is Vice Chair of the Environmental Committee of the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG). He also serves as Chair of the Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Prevention Board.
Greg grew up in Floyd County in Eastern Kentucky along with his three sisters. He is married to the former Mary Karen Henderson, and is proud to report that he recently became a grandfather with the arrival of Ava Leeann Kidd, born on July 19th!
