As a long-time admirer of Rep. Jim Leach, I feel strongly that Dave was an excellent Dem for Jim to lose to. I knew Dave as a professor and world-affairs expert. We were both on the central commitee of STAR*PAC, the Stop the Arms Race Political Action Committee. As a freshman, he’s off to a good start, well on his way to becoming a thoughtful leader who will focus on peace and justice issues and work “across the aisle” to accomplish positive change.
