Hi all—
Let me say this first: After 7 years of doing this, I don’t think I’ve ever asked you for money for a political campaign before – and that’s after 7 years of me raising money for candidates and/or causes. So please give me credit for never really having asked you before :)
Today, I am asking you to do me a favor.
As you all know, I have been working on Jeff Merkley’s US Senate campaign since last August. I have been working for Jeff Merkley for over 4 years now, and I wouldn’t have stayed with him for so long, if I didn’t truly believe that he was not only a great human being but also the most talented and gifted legislator I have seen since I started working in Oregon politics. After having spent over 3 years of my life (not to mention Jamie’s life!) working on Jeff’s team to take back the Oregon House for Democrats, I spent 6 incredible months working for Jeff in the Speaker’s office. It was truly amazing to see him at work there! It’s because of his work as Speaker that I decided to work for him on his US Senate campaign.
Today, I am writing to you to ask you to help me. I have promised Jeff that I would help raise money for him. And I was hoping that you could do me a favor by contributing $10, $25, $50, $100 or more on my ActBlue page. Whatever you can do will be much appreciated!
It’s close to the end of the first fundraising quarter for our campaign, and your help will help me be less stressed about the whole thing, go home earlier this week, drink less coffee, eat less bad food – and hopefully spend some time with my boys!! See, you would be helping Jeff AND me. (It’s the twofer!)
