As most of you know, I hail from Gary, Indiana—a region that consistently sends a Democrat to the House. The district right next door, Indiana-2, does not. This year things can be different. Joe Donnelly is the Democratic challenger to the Republican incumbent and he has a real shot. He is currently polling ahead. Joe is a great guy with a long history of public service. From 1988-1989 he served on the Indiana State Election Board. He was also a member of the School Board for Mishawaka Marian High School from 1997-2001, serving as President during the 2000-2001 term. After practicing law for 15 years, Joe decided in 1996 to open his own small business, Marking Solutions, based out of Mishawaka. Marking Solutions is a printing and rubber stamp company and has enjoyed tremendous success in its 10 years of operation. Joe is also a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. The incumbent is a mulit-millionaire with a war chest. Nevertheless, Joe’s campaign has been able to keep up in the media and, with a little help, should be able to keep the broadcast commercials going all the way up to November 7. That’s why I am appealing to you. I am supporting Joe’s campaign to win back Indiana-2. This is finally a real possibility.
