Like you, we can’t wait for this election season to draw to a close. But before it ends, we’d like to ask you a personal favor—to help us support our good friend, Jeff Merkley, for the U.S. Senate.

Jeff Merkley is the most progressive candidate for the U.S. Senate in the nation; and he’s in the closest race in the country – right here in Oregon. We’ve known Jeff for five years now, and he’s one of the most decent people we’ve ever met. (Not candidates. People.) Underneath his nerdy, wonky exterior is a progressive leader with a spine of steel.

And we’re 100% confident that he’s going to help deliver on Barack Obama’s promise of change—for universal health care, for energy, and for an economy with shared prosperity.

So, we’ve decided to put our money where our mouth is. We’re going to personally match every donation made today, September 30, up to $1000.

Why today? Because with five weeks to go, the campaign is making its final decisions right now about where to deploy grassroots organizers, which ads to run, and where to run them. Today is also an important reporting deadline – and national observers around the country will be looking for a sign of strength, to decide where they should deploy their resources.

You’re going to be very proud of Jeff Merkley in the years to come, and you’ll be proud to have been part of his campaign. We certainly are.
