Below you will find a list of candidates and causes that I support not just as a volunteer activist but also with my financial contributions. It is essential that our candidates for Senate and the House have the resources they need to compete and win in 2008. I’ve also included some of our top prospects for Senate pick-ups and the Democratic organizations charged with maintaining our majorities in the House and Senate as well as electing Democratic Governors and State Legislatures. I hope you will join me by making a one time contribution or signing up to give every month automatically. You can focus on one candidate/cause or choose several and have your contribution divided among them evenly. Together we can create the change we seek and make certain we are victorious in 2008… and beyond.

I worked as Rep. Slaughter’s Press Secretary on the House Rules Committee in the 109th Congress when Democrats were in the minority. It is great to see as Chairwoman of the Committee in the majority. She’s a great woman who deserves your support.

Jared Polis

CO-02 (Map)

Jared Polis is a successful entrepeneur, former Chairman of the Colorado State Board of Education and founder of several charter schools to serve at-risk youth. He is the leading progressive in the Democratic primary to fill Congressman Mark Udall’s open seat in Colorado. This campaign is my number one priority in 2008. Never before has an openly gay man been elected to the U.S. Congress. Those brave Congressmen who have come out have done so after already being elected. Jared has a remarkable story to tell and would bring an important voice and perspective to Washington. I hope you’ll give what you can.

This seat is currently held by Wayne Allard® who has decided not to seek reelection in 2008 making this will be an excellent pick-up opportunity for Democrats. U.S. Rep. Mark Udall would make an excellent Senator and could really use your financial support for what will undoubtedly be one of the most high profile races this cycle.
