The Golden Oppurtunity

For nearly ten long years the people of my Congressional district, Nebraska’s “Fighting” Second, have been represented by Republican Lee Terry. Despite being a fairly progressive area, the district has not had a Democrat represent it since 1995. Once described by Stephen Colbert as the “part of Nebraska with people,” the Second District is very much in play. I dare say it may be the Golden Opportunity of the 2008 election.
My fellow progressives, this is a chance to revive the Democratic Party in Nebraska—this is a chance to add another young, fresh face to the House of Representatives. My friends, this is a chance to boot a rubber stamp Bush-Dog Republican out of Congress and replace him with a much better Democrat! (You know, that whole more and better Democrats idea!)
Richard is a great candidate with a real chance to win. The challenges we face are far too great to send the same Washington chess pieces back to Congress. We must strive to do better. Richard is better.
P.S. The below title says Exploratory Committee but Richard has announced his candidacy for U.S. Congress. The name will change very soon.
