Thanks for visiting my campaign fundraising site. While I’m not up for election this year, this is a great place to donate to several tremendous candidates who can help us take back the Wisconsin Assembly in 2008 and add to our majority in the State Senate.

Many of you remember Kristen as my campaign Volunteer Coordinator in 2006. Her energy, enthusiasm and devotion to progressive ideals make her an ideal replacement to Terry Moulton and a Republican culture that says prosperity requires just one more budget cut to schools and one more tax cut for the rich. Let’s show the WMC millionaires they no longer control the Chippewa Valley legislative delegation.

Kristen is running in the 68th District which includes northern Eau Claire, Washington and Altoona, plus Wheaton, Lafayette, Hallie, Union, Seymour, Ludington, Lincoln and Fall Creek.

Jeff Smith

WI-HD-93

Jeff Smith has already established himself as a leader among the 9 Democratic Assembly freshmen. He is pragmatic and focused on results, keeping with his occupation as a small business owner.

The 93rd District includes southern portions of Eau Claire, Altoona and the Town of Washington.

Alison is one of the strongest new candidates out there for a seat in the legislature. She is a nurse-turned-safety officer for Fairview Health Systems and has won state and national awards for patient safety. She has a strong record of community activity including the challenge of balancing school budgets year after year.

Alison is challenging Sheila Harsdorf in the 10th District which includes St. Croix, Pierce, Polk, Burnett and western Dunn Counties.

There are two very competitive State Senate races in western Wisconsin this year: Alison Page challenging Sheila Harsdorf in the 10th District, and Tara Johnson challenging Dan Kapanke in the 32nd District which includes La Crosse, Trempealeau, Jackson, Monroe, Vernon and Crawford Counties.

Tara is the former executive director of her local United Way and currently serves on the La Crosse County Board.

It’s a far cry from our part of the state, but I also want you to know about Jessica King, a candidate for the 18th District in the Oshkosh-Fond du Lac area. She was already preparing to make a strong challenge against the Republican incumbent when Carol Roessler decided it was time to retire.

Jessica serves a citywide seat on the Oshkosh City Council and is already showing a strong record of community service. Her attorney work helps families and small business owners, and she knows their challenges with health care costs and a lopsided tax system that Republicans continue to defend.

Okay, it’s true: I’m not up for re-election in 2008. But the gratitude is always there for anyone who wants to help me get an early start on what’s certainly going to be a tremendous challenge in just two years. Freshmen are never given a free pass in their first effort to win re-election, and the GOP-WMC crowd is already working to identify and recruit someone willing to carry around their big, well-funded bucket o’ mud! So thank you, ahead of time, for continuing to show your support.

And thanks again for visiting my Act Blue page and ensuring we have public leaders working for us.
