I’m writing to you, from my desk in Portland, Oregon, thousands of miles away from most of you and 2,000 miles away from my DC apartment. I’m working 7 day weeks and long hours to get Jeff Merkley a seat in the US Senate because I genuinely believe in Jeff’s ability to bring change to Washington, DC—he’s the real deal.
Jeff Merkley is the type of Senator you want in Washington, DC: He’s genuine, super intelligent, committed, grounded, passionate, and progressive.
Not only is he completely dedicated, he will go to the Senate and really accomplish something, not just sit around and talk about it.
As Oregon’s Speaker of the House, Jeff led one of the most effective, efficient and progressive legislative sessions in Oregon’s history, with huge achievements in alternative energy, healthcare, choice, and education. Prior to that, he worked as a national security analyst for the Pentagon and traveled the world pursuing humanitarian causes. Plus—he can do a Rubix Cube in 26 moves….no joke.
And…I should mention that his opponent Senator Gordon Smith votes with Bush 90% of the time while deceptively advertising himself as “moderate”. Needless to say, Smith’s time is up.
Now…on to the moolah…any donation is welcome. But obviously, 3 digits or more are even MORE welcome! : )
