This is a critical time for America’s global leadership: the lives of our troops and invaluable resources are squandered daily in Iraq. Every additional day Americans occupy Iraq, it emboldens terrorists to attack us and erodes precious credibility earned by the American people since FDR led America through WWII.

It is also a critical time for the US economy and Western New York, which for too long have suffered under neglectful right-wing Republican representation in Washington DC. As special interests and conservative elites have grown fat on billions in taxpayer subsidies, Western New Yorkers have watched schools and factories close, police and firefighters laid-off, and once-vibrant communities dwindle.

I believe that the 26th Congressional District needs new leadership; I believe America needs more military veterans in Congress who understand what is really happening on the ground in Iraq.
