A message from Larry Kissell,
Thank you for taking the time to visit this page and your interest in our campaign to return Congress to the people.
For too long, our district has been served by a representative beholden to special interests fundamentally not our own. As a parent, school teacher, former textile employee and life-long resident of our diverse and wonderful district, I share the concerns of average working Americans witnessing the unchecked reversal of our country’s blessings and prosperity by an ever expanding bureaucracy against the grain of North Carolina.
When the founders developed the concept of the United States Congress it was meant to be a branch of government that would be filled by everyday people. These people would come and go, being replaced by other every day people. Congress was not meant to be a profession. It was meant to be what it was called: The U.S. House of Representatives.
Yet much of today’s House of Representatives with its career politicians and affluent establishment is anything but representative of our values; Community values such my late father Richard, a decorated WWII veteran and local postmaster, and mother Virene, a retired mathematics teacher, instilled in me; Real family values, such as my wife Tina and I impart to our children, Jenny Leigh, 15, and Aspen, 12; The value of education, as I’ve learned both teaching school and graduating from Wake Forest in economics; And, the value of a dollar as I learned from 27 years in textile management, to paying bills today while watching Congress borrow and spend our children’s future.
I have a passion for this country and want to make a difference as one voice in Congress for the average working American. Our well funded opponent will not make the task easy, but I won’t give up and with your support we will take this seat back for the people of the 8th District.
Please visit our campaign website for more information and contribute to this grassroots movement to return Congress to the people. No matter how small or large the donation, your valued support is an important step in getting America back on track. Together, we can make a difference.
Thank you for your support.
