The California 80th Assembly District is one of the few California seats in play in 2008, and I believe Manuel Pérez is the best candidate. Manuel Pérez is a hands-on, no bs, Harvard-educated community organizer from the heart of the Coachella Valley. He knows how to focus Sacramento on healthcare, jobs and the environment in California, because that’s what he’s doing already, and what he’s always done for his community. Manuel Pérez is on the Board of Trustees for the Coachella Valley Unified School District and is the Director of Advocacy for the Borrego Community Health Foundation. He’s pro-union, pro-choice, and committed to civil rights. Last year’s nominee, Steve Clute, already endorsed Manuel Perez, and he has a strong base in the community. But he won’t sell out, so he needs every grassroots dollar. Please give as much as you can comfortably manage. We need this seat to go Democratic, and we need the Democrat to be Manuel Pérez.
