In many states, the legislature sets the boundaries of Congressional and legislative districts. Those decisions can drastically change the balance of power in the state and in Congress. In states where the legislature and governor’s mansion are both controlled by Republicans, progressive voices are cut out of the process. The results can be devastating.
We’ve identified key state legislative and gubernatorial races that can shift control of at least one chamber of the legislature to ensure that progressives have a seat at the table.
