It has been an incredible honor to serve this area as a Planning Commissioner, a Mayor, a Supervisor, a State Assemblyman and a State Senator for the past 25 years. Now, as Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher considers moving on to new duties at the State Department, it is my hope that I can continue to honorably serve the needs of the working families of California’s 10th district.

Throughout my life and career, I’ve fought for the issues that matter most: affordable health care, the welfare of children and families, smart growth that improves both our transportation infrastructure and our quality of living and the preservation of our precious natural resources.
