The members of Bay Area New Democrats of Houston Texas are very proud to have Sherrie Matula, a BAND board member running for State Representative District 129. Sherrie was encouraged to run by the members of BAND after she debated our current state rep and absolutely ran circles around him. It was clear Sherrie was well qualified to be a State Rep.
- Sherrie also retired from teaching after 25 years in public schools.
- She has lobbied and advocated for public education on the federal and state level.
- She was elected to the Clear Creek Independent School District.
- She is one of the most knowledgable on education issues running for state office.
- She understands other issues affecting our state such as insurance, the environment, and transportation issues.
Her opponent is very ill funded, ill informed of the issues, and ill equipped to run a campaign.
She also has a very active and well know club working on her campaign. Our club will be opening a campaign headquarters and have volunteers already working for her.
Sherrie is one of the best candidates in the state and her opponent is ready to be taken. Help us help Sherrie to get elected!
