For too long, Dave Camp has had free reign in this district. He is a bedrock conservative and a Bush rubber stamp in a district that could go the other way with a decent challenger. Camp has the distinction of being rated 0% by NARAL, being proud of his votes for all of Bush’s tax cuts and his lobbying for more tax cuts, and flip-flopped on CAFTA, voting for it after promising to vote against it, despite the lack of protection for his district’s sugar industry. A double win for his district, CAFTA eliminates sugar jobs and moves factory jobs to the south. Camp is also a major enabler on the House Ethics Committee who voted to let DeLay continue on as majority leader despite being indicted as a felon. Donate to remove a rubber stamp.
