I need your help. My friend and former shipmate, Eric Massa, is running for Congress in New York’s 29th District. Eric will focus on fighting for accessible health care, making education affordable for our children, and achieving success in the war on terror. As a political newcomer, Eric ran for this seat in 2006. Despite a great effort, he was narrowly defeated by his incumbent opponent. Eric is giving it a second run in 2008. I came to know Eric personally when he was my Executive Officer aboard the USS Elliot (DD-967). I benefited directly from Eric’s outstanding leadership during this time, which included a six-month deployment to the Persian Gulf. I feel strongly that he is the type of leader we need in Congress. I felt so strongly about his candidacy in the last election, that I traveled to New York in October 2006 to introduce Eric at a campaign rally for veterans. I served as an honorary co-chair of “Veterans for Massa.” I shared this distinction with former U.S. Senator Max Cleland from Georgia and Mrs. Barclay Murphy. Mrs. Murphy is the widow of Major Ed Murphy, an Army Ranger killed in Afghanistan in 2005. Eric Massa has an excellent group of people backing his candidacy. However, in order for Eric to win, he needs money. Please visit www.massaforcongress.com for more information on Eric’s campaign. I greatly appreciate your help. Scott Fudal
