I ‘m asking my friends to give up one thing each week and donate that money to the John Edwards Campaign and his One Corps initiative. So give up a latte = $5. Give up a movie = $10. Give up a night on the town = $50.
Why am I 4 John?
He’s a man with big dreams, big ideas but practical ways to get there such as “College for Everyone” and Universal Health care. He speaks with the simple eloquence of Lincoln, our last great trial lawyer President. A man who is an unrepentant optimist, but no Pollyanna. He’s a healthy skeptic like I am. He’s a hard worker who believes in teamwork; a man of manners and civility who is wicked smart and can deliver a knockout punch. He made me get off my butt and out of my safe cushy life of work, Manolos and Martinis. Here’s a brother who asks big things of me and not a Big Daddy who pats me on the head and tells me to go shopping. He’s the man of action that we need because saving our democracy, as John Edwards say, “can’t wait until the next election”. This is urgent. Our time is now.
