Our World Needs Great Leaders
Like no time in generations, our country needs great leaders at every level of government. Located on Chicago’s north side, Northside DFA works to elect those great leaders by recruiting, assisting and publicizing worthy progressive candidates at the local, state and federal levels.
Our Mission
Northside DFA is a diverse group of dedicated volunteers working to elect socially progressive, fiscally responsible, ethically committed Democrats to office at all levels of government. We are inspired by Democracy for America, the grassroots organization that grew out of Howard Dean’s 2004 presidential campaign. Although we come from diverse backgrounds, we are united in the belief that a small group of dedicated citizens can change the world one candidate at a time.
Northside DFA meets in person on the first Thursday of every month. Each meeting features a guest speaker, usually an elected official, political professional, or candidate seeking our support. Additionally, we host movie nights, parties and forums regularly to gather socially, learn about issues and connect with the larger community.
What Sets Us Apart
Although the Internet is a powerful tool, it is no match for a smiling face at the voter’s door. Northside DFA is primarily engaged in on-the-ground activism. Just as we work to improve the world one candidate at a time, we work to win elections one voter at a time. It is a strategy that has paid great dividends for our candidates and our country.
